When Charles Addams started drawing a group of macabre characters for The New Yorker in 1937 they weren't officially a family, or even named, but they became a beloved staple in the magazine. Eventually Hollywood bought the rights and a television producer decided to call them "the Addams Family," much to the shy Addams' chagrin. Two TV series and several hit movies later, the Addams Family now makes its stage debut in this world premiere and pre-Broadway tryout. Two-time Tony winners Nathan Lane and Bebe Neuwirth star as Gomez and Morticia Addams, with secret weapon and Second City alumna Jackie Hoffman poised to steal the show as Grandmama.
