Those seeking refuge from the chaos reigning at big-box stores this Black Friday can still get their retail fix at the opening of the Object Design League's pop-up shop, Worth Your Salt. Pavilion's Bucktown storefront is currently home to for-sale artistic wares of 19 American designers — all of which combine a sense of playfulness and utility. Choose from handmade ping-pong paddles, raw-wood clocks, rings cast in crayon, and other goods for the design savvy on your list. The holiday shopping haven will send your gifts off wrapped in paper designed by Michael Savona and hand-screened by Rebecca Foster.
