Mathew Paul Jinks' film The Queen's Tailor, which ran earlier this year at Green Lantern Gallery, used the classic Ealing farce The Man in the White Suit as a springboard to examine the lasting, if sometimes buried, effects of colonialism. Jinks applies a similar theme with the intriguing On Sundrun. The title video finds the Brit expat devising an impromptu game with actors of South Asian descent. Cricket and capture-the-flag references carry unmistakable allusions to Englishness and expansionism, but the overall effect is subtly gracious and not at all moralizing in tone.
