Smart Bar's Classique party nabs no less than the greatest house DJ of all time. Local boy Derrick Carter built his name through well-honed skills and an instinct for uniting the sounds of the disco diaspora. Tonight, he surrounds himself with old-schooler (as in, DJ since '77) Scott "Smokin'" Silz, Gramaphone Records honcho Michael Serafini, and others for a night of warm, jacking funk and ecstatic dancing.
