Struck down again by the annual arctic blast, we all just want a steaming bowl of something to make us happy. This winter, the Hideout has your back, since it's serving up a free soup dinner every Wednesday until the end of March. A different crew mans the stove each week, including local chefs, staff members, even the possible celebrity (so they say). Really, we can't think of a better place to hole up for a warm bowl and a few beers, since the secluded bar is a good haunt for winter evenings to begin with. And since donations go to the Greater Chicago Food Depository, you can spread the good will to others in need of a warm meal. Salud!
