As a follow-up to their wonderful collection of Six-Word Memoirs, the editors at Smith magazine have compiled a new edition of compact sentiments on love and relationships. The emotions and situations covered by the contributors are both charming and impressive; some actually made us laugh out loud, others got us a bit teary. Forget Pride and Prejudice — this book, which expounds on all the different kinds of love and heartbreak, has about 99 percent less wordiness than Jane Austen. As Valentine's Day approaches (groan), it's a helpful, quick read for getting some condensed perspective on love. That, or a really predictable yet lovely Valentine's gift for your wordy significant other.
