Typewriters, vinyl LPs, Pong — sometimes an obsolete technology is just too good to let die. To wit: despite the popularity (and ubiquity) of digital cameras, film-based photography isn't dead yet, thanks to the dedicated hordes of anti-digital shutterbugs, college photography programs, and places like Chicago Photography Center. Today, do your part to save this nearly-lost art at the CPC's beginners-friendly Film Boot Camp. Learn how to operate good ol' fashioned SLR cameras (no point and clickers allowed), how to develop a roll of film, and even how to print your own photographs with their in-house darkroom. Bring your own camera or borrow one from the center. Viva la film!
