Wait Until Dark

In a time of creeping horrors like war, recession, terrorism and Bernie Madoff, there's perverse satisfaction to be gleaned from a stage play whose menace is quantifiable (not to mention fictional). Mystery thriller Wait Until Dark is the Hitchcockian tale of a recently blinded woman targeted by a trio of criminals trying to recover a valuable object hidden in her apartment. Legitimately scary moments punctuate the tension in this competent Court Theatre production of a script by suspense master Frederick Knott (Dial "M" for Murder). Fans of the 1967 Audrey Hepburn movie version won't be disappointed.
