All business expos brag about spilling trade secrets and insider tips "they" don't want you to know about. But the Creative Chicago Expo is different: not only is it devoted to artists and arts professionals, but this one actually does offer a smorgasbord of valuable info. Slide from the scores of first-rate vendors over to one of the 20-plus workshops, with topics ranging from non-profit start-ups to just finding cheap space. One-on-one consulting sessions are also available — offering portfolio review, audition advice, and much more. At the very least, CCE09 is prime Rolodex-building. Nearly everyone under the roof is worthy of a hobnob.
