Uninhibited by sexual mores, Michelle du Bois took a two-decade jaunt around the Pacific Rim by turning tricks and finding sugar daddies — or so artist Zoe Crosher leads us to believe, in her presentations of du Bois' "lost archive" of personal photographs. The selection on view is teasingly elusive, featuring just nine enlarged pictures and hardly a glimpse of our protagonist's face, as if nudging us toward the hefty book that gathers the whole collection. It's worth a good perusal; as the buxom blonde strikes poses for the camera, it's like we've discovered one of Cindy Sherman's characters on the lam — a psychosexual cocktail of performed identities and assimilated cultural tropes, only mixed to order in real life.
