From the looks of it, it's tempting to say Away We Go will be to your starter home what Garden State was to your dorm room. It's all sweet understatement, post-collegiate doubt, indie pop, and Graduate references. But with all due apologies, Away's pedigree comes thoroughbred compared to Zach Braff. Directed by Sam Mendes (Revolutionary Road), written by McSweeney's power couple Dave Eggers and Vendela Vida, and starring Maya Rudolph (SNL) and beta-male extraordinaire John Krasinski, the sheer talent involved should keep the right balance between preciousness and insight. Proceeds from tonight's screening go to the beyond-worthy youth tutoring programs at 826CHI.
