Rambunctious quirk-poppers the Vaselines packed a lot of punch into four years of band life. The once little-known Scottish quartet gained fame in the early '90s when Kurt Cobain cited them as an influence, and was even covered onstage during Nirvana's famous MTV Unplugged performance. Tying an irreverent, abrasive, and straight-to-the-point attitude to jangly, guitar-hazed pop, the Vaselines only managed to put out one full-length album before splitting in 1990. Luckily, there have been multiple reunions since then. Tonight, one such event spreads the fun around at the Metro.
