West Loop says…

Chicagoland has its share of annual parades, but even the most festive tend to lack the creative spark and chutzpah that might make them really memorable. Needless to say, we have high hopes for the inaugural Chicago Art Parade, a homegrown production inspired by New York's carnivalesque cavalcade of a similar name (first organized in 2005 by Deitch Projects). Responding to an open call for "immodest proposals," more than 150 Chicago artists, musicians, and mischief makers will hit the streets of the West Loop with jumbo puppets, offbeat floats, on-the-go performances, and other sensational displays. Look for the parade route on their website.
