We may never know what a teenaged Shakespeare's rhymes were like, but we can find out what this generation's most talented young slam poets have to offer. The Brave New Voices International Youth Poetry Slam Festival, sponsored by Youth Speaks, Inc., celebrates its 12th year in Chicago, as 500 slam champions aged 13-19 attend workshops and semi-final rounds at locations throughout the Loop, before finalists hold their verbal battle at the Chicago Theatre. Last year's shows in Washington, DC sold out, so Youth Speaks made this year's tickets available online in advance. Festival passes grant entrance into all 25 events, and tickets for the finals are also available.
