The Wizard of Oz (1939) is on many critics' top-ten films lists, and rightfully so. Shot in the heyday of Technicolor, Judy Garland's performance as the lost girl Dorothy not only defined the genre of musical theatre but also brought all of us into a world of utter enchantment. It's a film that must be truly experienced on the big screen. At least one rogue musical fan will likely be there, singing their heart out to "Somewhere over the Rainbow."
