The Pitchfork Music Festival is known for booking the year's most noteworthy acts, but like Lollapalooza, sometimes the best sets to see are at the afterparties. Tonight, Oregon's Blitzen Trapper reprises the stage at the Empty Bottle shortly after their festival performance. Their first major studio release, Furr, captures the noise and joy of '60s and '70s folk rock. With harmonicas and guitar feedback, at times you think you hear Neil Young or David Bowie — or a hip version of the Soggy Bottom Boys. Their songs deal with content you might expect from a band of minstrels: man turning into werewolf, and sleepy, leaden eyelids.
