After taking aim at Obama, Hillary and McCain in its recent shows, the Second City looks homeward with a heaping helping of Cook County comfort food. Its latest sketch revue name-checks Twin Anchors, Todd Stroger, Wicker Park's six corner and the titular favorite son as it serves up the funny, even punctuating scene transitions with the rumbling sound of a passing "L" train. The sketches are serviceable, skewering targets macro (Chicago politics, imperfect husbands) and micro (a winning song about astrological skepticism, a sociopathic seatmate on an airplane), but the able cast shines brightest when it plays off the cuff — most memorably in a hard-boiled gumshoe tale that hilariously closes the first act.
