For book lovers, nothing says heaven on earth more than a used-book sale. But the Newberry Library's Book Fair practically promises literary nirvana. This week, the beloved yearly sale celebrates its 25th year with a record number of 100k-plus books in over 60 categories — even vampire romance is covered. Most books are priced under two bucks; all books are half-priced on Sunday (although true bibliophiles have usually picked over the offerings on the first day). The library's frequently-hilarious, and always informative, Book Fair Blog reports on the fair's more notable offerings, along with behind-the-scenes peeks into the fair's operations. The window for book donations has closed, but anyone interested in volunteering can sign up online.
