We've got our iPhones. We've got our Kindles. We've got Kindles on our iPhones. What use do we have for paper? As a dying industry shifts media toward the virtual world, the Printers' Ball reminds us that printed matter matters. Celebrating print culture might have seemed frivolous a decade ago, but in 2009, it's incredibly important. From Jay Ryan co-judging a Literary Death Match and Joe Meno reading from the craft-embracing McSweeney's, to Columbia College demonstrating that making paper is, indeed, still an art, attendees are shown that there are some things worth more than a download.
