The Empty Bottle says…

Ya Ho Wha 13's bizarre bio usually carries the lede: '70s quasi-spiritual commune sells organic food to a clientele of hippie luminaries, supporting its mystical studies and free-form, golden-hour improv jams. But one spin of their transcendental, Beefheartian psychedelia shows why YHW13 has become a totem for the Arthur crowd, and not just a curio. The surviving members (founding guru Father Yod passed away in '75) mark their debut Chicago happening tonight on the heels of the gonzo, vault-dug Magnificence in the Memory. The Singleman Affair opens with his Creation-approved sepulchral folk, followed by Ga'an's wondrously creepy goth-kosmische vibes.
