Among the many trademarks found in a Daedelus live set, his early Victorian-era garb is often the first thing that catches one's attention. But once the beats commence, the Los Angeles-based producer's ultra-visual presentation becomes about more than eccentric clothes. Particularly, Daedelus is renowned for his use of a Monome box on stage. He places the Lite-Brite-looking device toward the crowd and uses the backlit buttons to reconstruct his songs — and ultimately give people more to look at than the back of a laptop. Coupled with his freewheeling repertoire — which encompasses slices of house, hip hop, dubstep and more — Daedelus always keeps his audience active.
