Part exhibition, part creative lecture series, Public Works is both a chance to see great, tastemaking design and to explore its broader relationship to commerce and community. Tonight's panel discussion features a trio of renowned designers based in Chicago and New York. Chris Eichenseer, founder of Someoddpilot, has photographed indie notables like Steve Albini and RJD2 and contributed design for Pitchfork, Drag City, and Fat Possum. Jason Teegarden-Downs of the local Delicious Design League creates captivating silkscreen concert posters and commercial art (Jane Magazine, Clothes Optional). Justin Fines' pursuits under the moniker Demo encompass everything from record covers and t-shirts to books and skateboards. All three introduce selections of their work and give a one-hour talk, followed by a Q&A.
