Ladyhawke took her moniker from the same-named cult film perhaps remembered most vividly for its soundtrack, which miraculously incorporates just about every cheesy musical element of the mid-'80s. While most musicians wouldn't actively seek out an association with what might be the most dated soundtrack of all time, Ladyhawke is obviously comfortable with the implications. Her synth-heavy electro-pop worships the guilty pleasures of the '80s, and her knack for emulating the shimmering, glossy, and mindless fun of Hughes-era pop is almost as impressive as her deft compositional hand and way with a hook. Brown is joined for this tour by our favorite Norwegian pop-punker and Iggy Pop collaborator, co-headliner Ida Maria. It's a bill that almost makes us forget just who's behind it. Almost.
