For nearly 10 years, Chicago-founded new-lit broadsheet (and companion site) THE2NDHAND has showcased some of the most surprising, funny, weird, and innovative writing in town — including work by Spencer Dew, Elizabeth Crane, editor Todd Dills, and the incomparable Joe Meno — for free. Tonight, the publication plays host to a new monthly series in which writers wrestle with the titular nerves-of-steel question. Coeditor Jacob Knabb, in the guise of a janitor character called "Harold Ray," hosts the show, which features playwright/performer Chris Bower, "literary stalker extraordinaire" Amanda Marbais of Requited Journal, and former Literary Death Match champ Jill Summers.
