There is nothing icy about the Cold War Kids. The Fullerton, California natives make the kind of music guaranteed to rid you of your winter blues — in exchange for theirs. Soulful and anachronistic, the band has been garnering buzz since their 2006 debut Robbers and Cowards for their drunken, Southern sound. Loyalty to Loyalty (2008), the CWK's critically acclaimed sophomore effort, is full of straightforward storytelling and dusty guitars.
