Very funny and very dark, Stan Chisholm's installation consists of line drawings on paper and foam board and multimedia dioramas that combine American history and pop culture with the artist's own life — transformed into Chisholm's signature "mascot characters." A life-sized lemonade stand comes complete with "vodka pm" in a prescription bottle. Paper airplanes miss their landings on a runway and lie crumpled on the floor. And in FranklinKiteBrigade + Graveyard for Things Dead and Killed, an arm rises from a grave and flies kites surrounded by tombstones labeled "chivalry," "all hope," and "MJ."
