“Most visitors to Sullivan Galleries are probably there to take in the headliner, an excellent Ray Yoshida retrospective; but be sure to make time for the supporting acts, too, namely four concurrently running group mini-shows in the north room. Each exhibition presents choice cuts from SAIC students, workshop attendees, and other emerging artists. Some highlights: Hope Esser's expansive buffalo-rawhide-tailored Her Herd Heard; Cheryl Pope's custom-made socks and basketball jerseys (emblazoned with slogans like "Ball Till We Fall" and other overheard chatter from Chicago-area students); and Zihan Loo's Annuit Coeptis a captivating, durational look at the artist's week-long stint as an NYC go-go dancer.”
