“Scooty & JoJo, the duo behind the cult classic Carpenters Halloween, assemble another ridiculously entertaining, camp-fueled mash-up, this one a musical parody of the first two Alien movies soundtracked to the appropriately over-the-top Queen. As with CH, the title pun is made more delicious by the songs' hilarious, almost bizarre compatibility with the genre plot ("Another One Bites the Dust" and "Killer Queen" as the body count rises? Sure, but the deep-cut matches are even choicer). And again, the mix of choreographic commitment, drag, puppetry, and wild costume design — especially the show-stopping Big Mama — doesn't let up. Even Alien Queen's spin on the parodied-to-death "chestburster" sequence draws a big laugh, thanks in part to some inspired scenic design (first row: you might get just a splash wet). These guys know their element well; and this one fits it like a facehugger.”

Alien Queen is a genre-blurring, gender-bending rock "parodyssey" created by Scott Bradley, co-creator of Chicago's cult hit show Carpenters Halloween, as well as The Scooty & JoJo Show's Mollywood and Tran: The Atari Musical. Arguably the best and most frightening science-fiction films of a generation are deliciously parodied and paired with the greatest, most flamboyant rock band ever. The contemporary dragons of Hollywood's Alien franchise meet the music of Queen in a ferocious synergy of suspense, satire, and soaring harmonies.
