F*cked Up w/ Kurt Vile, Zola Jesus, and Boystown
What happens when an underground punk band outgrows its insular scene? Signing to Jade Tree wasn't surprising, but Matador? Or Damian Abraham's appearance on Fox News. Or playing a 12-hour show in NYC with appearances from Moby, Vampire Weekend's Ezra Koenig, and Vivian Girls. And we thought that writing songs longer than a minute was a big jump ("Year of the Pig" clocks in at 18). Bands become a crossover success when they push boundaries; and Toronto's F*cked Up consistently does exactly that. This show is also Boystown's final (members of Charles Bronson, Daylight Robbery, and The Ponys).
