Although Chicago's tales of crime and corruption could fill a library or two, local author Troy Taylor packs the best (or worst) stories of the city's seedy underbelly into the five-part series Murder & Mayhem. The book series breaks up Chicago's crime-ridden past into five areas — downtown, the vice districts, and the North, South, and West sides. Included are the well-known stories of the Great Chicago Fire and the adventures of Al Capone, as well as lesser-told tales, such as the deadly womanizer Johann Hoch and the Car Barn Bandits.
