Commemorate the anniversary of FDR’s Executive Order 9066, which forcefully incarcerated 120,000 Americans of Japanese descent during World War II. Award-winning storyteller Alton Takiyama-Chung presents his original monologue “Heroes,” which follows two brothers’ journey from basic training to the battlegrounds of Europe with the all–Japanese American 100th Battalion/442nd Regimental Combat Team.
Presented in partnership with the Chicago Japanese American Council, the Chicago Japanese American Historical Society, the Japanese American Citizens League, and the Japanese American Service Committee.
