Chicago History Museum says…

The Maritime Heritage Festival is in two parts, the daytime family festival and the nighttime concert.

Festival

10:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

Be part of an international gathering that celebrates Chicago’s diverse maritime heritage. Daytime activities include more than forty seminars, workshops, lectures, films, and exhibits on a broad range of topics, such as underwater archeology, sailing, shanties, life at sea, model shipbuilding, environmental issues, boating safety, weather, shipwrecks, and tall ships.

Maritime Music Concert

7:00–10:30 p.m.

Critically acclaimed performers from across the country and around the world come together for a concert honoring maritime culture. Don’t miss the 97th Regimental String Band, Caryl P. Weiss, John Roberts, Rick Spencer, and Chicago’s own Tom and Chris Kastle.

Presented in partnership with the Chicago Maritime Society and Common Times magazine.
