Acclaimed British drama Fish Tank follows troubled teen and aspiring urban dancer Mia Williams (played by first-time actress Katie Jarvis) as she becomes enmeshed in a complex relationship with her mother's new boyfriend. The unpolished honesty of this relatable slice-of-working-class-life in Essex, England is a not a surprising style coming from Red Road director Andrea Arnold. Fish Tank is the former actress and filmmaker's second film to earn the Cannes Film Festival Jury Prize. The award-winning flick was also a favorite at last fall's Chicago International Film Festival.
