A group of college-aged counselors at a Christian summer camp accidentally take ecstacy, resulting in a night of romance, hilarity, and spiritual questioning. The premise isn't promising, and at first the show seems to be easy shots at a fundamentally unhip culture, with overly-sincere young people singing altered pop songs about Jesus and getting too excited about handicrafts and nature hikes. Soon, though, the characters — created collaboratively by the actors themselves — gel into real and empathetic characters facing problems of identity and expectation familiar to anyone. The writing manages to be both funny and compassionate, and when the group comes down off their high to face real problems, their morning-after dialogue ends with real dramatic power.
