“Since forming in Washington, DC, nearly a decade ago, Ted Leo & the Pharmacists have steadily become one of the country's hardest-working live bands. Although Leo first honed his hook-laden craft as the mastermind behind '90s pop-punk trio Chisel, it wasn't until the formation of the Pharmacists that his myriad influences coalesced. Fusing elements of moddish British Invasion rock with two-tone ska and '80s post punk, Leo and his bandmates bang out upbeat, politically aware anthems for throngs of not-so-rude boys and girls. Leo returns in support of his fine, hooky Matador debut, The Brutalist Bricks.”
Bottom Lounge says:
A voice of dissent with a firm grasp of the past and a hopeful eye to the future, Ted Leo and the Pharmacists are rebels without a pause.
