As Artistic Director of the renowned Nederlands Dans Theater, Jirí Kylián pioneered a style of movement — a dazzling combination of ballet's fluid exactitude and weighty modern dance — that influenced the next generation perhaps more than any other choreographer. While the world played catch-up, Kylián continued to evolve and expand on his early innovations. Case in point: 27'52" (the duration of the piece), which receives its HSDC premiere, weaves set and time inseparably into Kylián's signature duets and solos. The Spring Series also includes Susan Marshall's aerial tour de force Kiss and world premieres from Resident Choreographer Alejandro Cerrudo and Artistic Associate/Rehearsal Director Terence Marling.
