Where electronic music is concerned, the combined effect of sonic layers, FX pedals, and synths yield anything from aggressive swagger to dream-pop haze — but it's heart and soul that often get lost in the shuffle. The Big Pink, the London-based duo of Robbie Furze and Milo Cordell, banish any iciness from their Spaceman 3-meets-Otis Redding riffs, finding a way to nestle some tenderness in their sprawling wall of sound. Lovelorn but explosive cuts like "Dominos," "Velvet" and "Too Young to Love" offer a hint of intimacy while still rocking hard enough to fill an arena.
