These identical Canadian twins strike a balance by melding voices — one ethereal, one gutsy — with a musical diversity ranging from garage rock and indie folk to driving, pop-laced confections. So Jealous, named one of the top 50 records of 2004 by Rolling Stone, exuded a mature polish, eclipsing the duo's nymph-like artistic personae and previously raw-sounding albums. The Quin sisters' most recent album, Sainthood, elevates things even further. Onstage, the petite madames astound, shedding their virginal guises, erupting into full-bore rock mode (complete with an onslaught of cuss words) and conquering the masses, Napoleon-style.
