“Don't just live with less; make art with less. Jason Middlebrook, a pioneer of sustainability art, has focused in the past on our fearful, destructive relationship to the environment. His latest show represents a somewhat paradoxical "collaboration with nature" by making art with found materials. A single installation created from discarded material scavenged from the streets of Chicago, LESS clusters these materials into a three-dimensional sunburst of trash, tension-supported and attached to the walls of the gallery with paintings and drawings form nature — as conceptual as it is sculptural.”
