Leading up to Human Centipede's limited-run opening on April 30, more than one headline ran with some variation on the question, "Is Human Centipede the Most Revolting Movie Ever?" Either lots of people missed I Am Sam or Dutch director Tom Six has really brought body horror to a new high/low. The plot — Internet notorious long before the film opened — involves an unhinged scientist who kidnaps three people and surgically grafts them (there's no pretty way to say this) ass-to-mouth. Some have praised Human's "Cronenbergian" extremity and Dieter Laser's magnetic lead performance; others find no value whatsoever. You can likely already guess whether or not you'll find the film closer to a shocking achievement or a post-torture-porn nadir. Revulsion is in the (hand-shielded) eye of the beholder. So, tread carefully and you be the judge.

Music Box Theatre says…

Music Box says: Two naive American college students traveling through Europe become lost and disoriented in the woods after their car breaks down. They have the misfortune of stumbling upon the home and laboratory of mad scientist Dr. Heiter, a man once celebrated for his work separating Siamese twins who has now dedicated his life to the opposite cause — creating the perfect "human centipede."
