“A spectacular lineup, ranging from emerging artists to Chicago institutions, graces this summer group exhibition at Thomas Robertello Gallery, where the theme is human faces and figures broadly conceived on the spectrum of realism. The inclusion of the late Ed Paschke is a no-brainer, but the variety of explorations of imagining and representation is surprisingly nuanced. Scott Fife's werewolf/chimera sculpture and Noelle Mason's video of the artist getting hurt in a fight, for example, result in a refreshing interpretation of real and imaginary portraiture.”
