“Storefront-theatre company Mary-Arrchie consistently delivers provocative, innovative work. Their latest, the Midwest premiere of a show originally concocted by Austin's Rule Mechanicals, features all of the company's usual suspects, plus some of the most impressive names in Chicago theatre — including the critically acclaimed David Cromer, who's taking a break from Steppenwolf and Writers' Theater to direct the show. Cromer's interest in the production would seem to lie in Cherrywood's unorthodox script; written as a series of lines without character attribution, the play gives actors room to create their own roles from lines they choose. Mary-Arrchie's dark, funny production goes big, with dozens of actors onstage at a time, impromptu dance parties and schizophrenic, non sequiter lines overlap in a post-Facebook mode of alienated social life and mob mentality.”
