16th Street Theater, now in its third season, keeps proving its robustness and strong eye for talent and collaboration — it's a company to keep watching. And after the sleeper hit This Train at the Berwyn Cultural Center sold out before it even opened last year, they're moving the show to the Merle Ruskin Garage Theater for its Steppenwolf debut, an honor for any small company, and especially one this young. Artist, poet, and storyteller/actor Tony Fitzpatrick stars and 16th Street's Artistic Director Ann Filmer directs the poetry-and-music based show about hard-luck life on the margins.

Steppenwolf Garage Theatre says…

Steppenwolf says: "There are bums. There are tramps. There are hobos. And then there's Tony. Some guys just can't fit in. Fine artist, poet and storyteller Tony Fitzpatrick delves into the Hobo Alphabet for a musically-entertaining, visually-rich and never dull night of theater. With returning side-kick Stash: aka Stan Klein, mean-guitarist John Rice, and new guest vocalist Kat Eggleston. Fitzpatrick's This Train was developed with Ann Filmer for 16th Street Theatre, where all tickets were sold-out before it even opened in its premiere in Berwyn. Now This Train returns with some additional material, an intermission (so Tony may take a smoke break), and with Kat Eggleston coming in from Seattle."
