“In conjunction with the new, Yeti-published book of the same title, Art of Touring showcases a bevy of strong (non-musical) art created by musicians while crisscrossing the highways in between gigs. The exhibition features work by artists included in the book (Tara Jane O'Neil, the Ponys' Nathan Jerde, the Ex's Andy Moor) alongside — appropriately enough — additional local support (Steve Krakow, Wilco's Patrick Sansone). Musicians are generally an interdisciplinary breed, and the frequently mythology-stomping work on display underlines that fact ably. A good chunk of the prospective audience for last Friday's opening was probably busy Pitchforking. They'd do well to catch up with this strong — and fitting — collection of sketches, paintings, and photos.”
