With countless books less than $2 a pop, the Newberry Library Book Fair remains one of the city's most popular events for book-buying benders and, along with Printers Row Lit Fest, a summer mecca for Midwestern bibliophiles. The sheer quantity of books — more than 120,000 titles coming from donations this year — means there are always books on every topic (Newberry divides them into 70 categories), from cookbooks to art and children's literature, housed in half-a-dozen rooms in the Library. All proceeds support the independent Library and its superb cultural programming.

The Newberry Library says…

Put away your Kindle and celebrate 26 years of inexpensive used books at the Newberry's Annual Book Fair. We have a record number of books to sell this year! More than 110,000 donated books will be sorted into 70 categories for your browsing convenience. With many books priced under $2, it's easy to replenish your home library's holdings on subjects ranging from antiques to zoology.
