The Reality of the Myth: History is an Act of the Imagination Is it really possible to know what it was like in a previous era by trying to re-live it? Historical reenactors would suggest that it is. They are hardly the first. From 19th century world’s fairs to historical pageants, the act of embodying past lives has been used to create many histories. During this talk and media presentation, Andrew Francisco will show how historical reenactment has become a potent means of modern myth-making.
