“Rachel Niffenegger and Paul Nudd's pairing at Western Exhibitions is a no-brainer; both artists deal with the abject body and the visceral in novel ways. Niffenegger's mixed media sculptures and works on paper use muted, suble, even alluring color palettes in pieces that often resemble screaming skulls and bodies in pain. Paul Nudd's work is even more uncanny, with forms equal parts seductive and grotesque — depicting decaying bodies and soft organic constructions, both pornographic and scatological.”
