The Moth
Friday Aug 12, 2011 (7pm)
“The Moth is best known for its Peabody Award-winning radio show, its Mainstage events featuring celebrities sharing true tales, and its lively storytelling slams in neighborhood bars, but its worthy educational mission should not be overlooked. The New York City-based nonprofit works with public school children across the country, helping them write and refine the personal stories they present live onstage before appreciative audiences. Tonight is just such an evening, with teenage Chicago Public School students at the mic. Admission is free, but advance RSVP is required.”
This summer The Moth is teaming up with Participant Media and The Help to inspire you to STAND UP. Join us for a night of inspiring story telling from students trained by The Moth's all star team of training experts. FREE Admission. Hosted by Brian Babylon, a fixture in Chicago’s rich comedy community. A finalist in the New York Comedy Contest in 2009, Brian has performed in LA at the historic Comedy Store and Laugh Factory and in the UK at Jongleurs comedy club in London. He is also a contributor to BBC Radio and regularly hosts The Moth Story Chicago. Currently, Brian hosts and produces a radio show on Vocalo.org, a sister station of Chicago Public Radio.
