“In 2009, Matt Irie and Dominick Talvacchio gained broad acclaim (including a mention in The New York Times) for their installation "Lamppost" in Brooklyn, of a light pole gracefully bent over with the bulb itself just in a shallow hole. This summer Irie goes solo and is showing paintings at ebersmoore gallery. Built up by successive applications of dripped paint, Irie proves to be at his best when straying from his strict geometric patterns, though the large and long "Super Croft" is impressive.”
