Save some time to read through the packed exhibition at the Chicago Cultural Center, Write Now: Artists & Letterforms. Featuring many Chicago-based artists, the exhibition is an excellent survey of artists engaged with text and typography, and how those can affect meaning. Artists like Mario Gonzalez Jr., Rahmann "Statik" Barnes, and Dzine all use influence from street art and graffiti in their contributions and are particular standouts. Curator Nathan Mason makes excellent use of a narrow and vertical exhibition space, so make sure to look up to catch Tom Torluemke's sky-high piece.
