“Save some time to read through the packed exhibition at the Chicago Cultural Center, Write Now: Artists & Letterforms. Featuring many Chicago-based artists, the exhibition is an excellent survey of artists engaged with text and typography, and how those can affect meaning. Artists like Mario Gonzalez Jr., Rahmann "Statik" Barnes, and Dzine all use influence from street art and graffiti in their contributions and are particular standouts. Curator Nathan Mason makes excellent use of a narrow and vertical exhibition space, so make sure to look up to catch Tom Torluemke's sky-high piece.”
Write Now: Artists and Letterforms is a major exhibition at the Chicago Cultural Center, presented by the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events, in partnership with the Chicago Office of Tourism and Culture, that showcases a diverse range of recent works by more than 60 artists utilizing letters and text in a wide array of mediums.
